Gatehouse Community Centre

Welcome to Gatehouse Community Centre

The Community Centre is now fully open

We are very pleased to tell you that the Community Centre is now fully open, subject of course to the ongoing guidance published by the Scottish Government.

We realise how inconvenient our closure has been for all our users and we are very grateful for your support and forbearance during what has been a very difficult year for all community halls. As we're sure you will appreciate, the arrangements are not quite as simple as the pre-lockdown ones and attached are a number of documents which we ask you to consider carefully before you make a booking.

Check in

Those who are familiar with the use of QR codes will be pleased to know that a Check In Scotland QR code is now available on the main notice board in the Community Centre with instructions on how to use it. For anyone less familiar with this system further information is available from

We apologise if this all continues to seem rather onerous but the Scottish Government is clear that it is very important for us as the Board, for hirers, users and the wider community that we all get this right and everyone is kept safe.

We look forward very much to you booking with us again very soon.

Now available for online meetings

We are very pleased to announce that our meeting room is now equipped to allow users to conduct meetings online using their own Zoom or MS Teams accounts. Typically some participants can be physically present in the meeting room while others are able to join from remote locations such as their home or workplace. The equipment is easy to use and personal instruction is available. You can download a user guide here.

We very much hope you will consider using this facility for your meetings. Not everyone is able to visit the Centre in person due to their personal circumstances or their distance from Gatehouse. By taking part in online meetings, however, you can all participate in a wide variety of activities hosted at the Centre and so feel included in our community. Also, of course, meeting online removes the need for travel for those living at a distance, thus making a valuable saving in carbon miles if you travel by car.

This initiative has been made possible through the financial support of Dumfries and Galloway Council, the Gatehouse Community Council and the Gatehouse Development Initiative, to all of whom we extend our thanks for their generosity that has enabled this exciting development to take place.

If you wish to make use of this facility, or simply learn more about its potential, please contact the Centre via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or leave a message on our facebook page
